It’s hard to imagine being outside of society for just 1 month, let alone 44 years. This is Otis Johnson who got locked up in his youth and now faces reintegration with a society which left him way behind.
He has no contact with his family, and only has sparse memories of his two nieces. He’s alone, maybe he deserves to be, but it seems to me he’s paid a hefty price
