Dominican Republic: Regional Flags
Dominican Republic is the second largest Caribbean nation after Cuba. It harbours around 10 million people, and around 10% of the population live in the capital Santo Domingo. Dominican Republic is also home to the tallest mountain in the West Indies – Duarte Peak at 3,175 metres tall.
Christopher Columbus landed on the island on Dec 5th, 1492 and it became the first permanent European settlement in the Caribbean. The primary language is Spanish and the main religion is Roman Catholic. But, to be quite honest with you, I am more interested in their wonderful wealth of flags.
