Old School Mugshots From Nebraska
Criminals in Nebraska in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s looked a lot classier than they do today. Check these (literally) bad boys and girls out.
First up a wonderfully moustached Albert Johnson:

Bert Martin – arrested for stealing horses. It later transpired that she was actually a woman. This revelation shortened her sentence. The prison system couldn’t wait to get rid of this “monstrosity”.

Bertha Liebbeke, known as fainting Bertha. She would pretend to faint near well dressed gentlemen, then pickpocket them.

James Whitewater – jailed for murder, converted to Christianity, behaved so well inside that he was released earlier than expected. He ran straight outside and rolled in the grass.
