Chen Wenling is a Chinese artist who lives and works in Beijing. He was born in Quanzhou, Fujian Province in 1969. His weirdly uncomfortable but sort of childish constructions have been displayed in galleries across the world giving art lovers a taste of the stranger side of Chinese sculpture. They’re pretty strange, yes, and also a tiny bit maniacally depraved, which I like.
They might not be the sort of objets d’art you’d have on your mantelpiece though, the mother-in-law would definitely disapprove.
