Do-Ho Suh (hangul:서도호, born 1962) is a Korean sculptor and installation artist. The modern world of South Korean art seems to scream “gargantuan” at the moment. I’m sure there are plenty of artists making smaller things in the country, somewhere, but all of the ones that seem to make it onto my radar make big, loud impressive things. Perhaps that says more about the media I peruse than the state of South Korean artistry?
A little while back I put up a post about Choi Jeong Hwa’s monolithic colour explosions and even more recently one about Seung Mo Park’s more subtle but still oversized mesh portraits. I love them all.
