Tourists to beaches can experience the thrill of surfing in the present bathing season. The Korea International Travel Company recently commenced surfing tourism to cater for diverse needs of tourists. Surf riding requires both brains and guts and is very popular among young and middle-aged people as well as athletes.
Tourists can play the sport at such bathing resorts as Songdowon, Lake Sijung and Majon on the east coast. Both several-metre-high waves and low waves are available and so beginners can have a good opportunity to learn to surf.
A period of tourism is four nights and five days and it can be extended at the request of tourists. During their stay they can look round monumental structures, places of historic interest and other tourist attractions in Pyongyang and local areas.
The first surfing tourism ran between July 28 and August 6. North American surfers said they had a very good time in a bathing resort of the DPRK with fascinating scenery and refreshing environment.
According to people who’ve actually been to these North Korean destinations the waves are never “several metres” high, but we certainly don’t expect the North Korean media to stop exaggerating do we? Don’t worry about the unknown quantity of people in the country starving to death and working themselves to the grave, I don’t expect you will be allowed to witness any real North Koreans on your trip.
No need to thank me for the holiday tip, you’re welcome.
