New Yeti Footage From The Americas

Here we go again – more dodgy footage of “mythical” beasts. I can’t help myself. Sorry. Just to recap: I don’t believe in ghosts, I think there may be life on other planets but I don’t reckon it’s made it to us yet; I don’t believe in the Loch Ness monster (but I want to) and I have a soft spot in my heart for yeti, bigfoot, sasquatch and abominable snowman stories.

There have been sightings of large hair covered humanoids for centuries, not just in North America, but also in China, Mongolia, Nepal, Russia and other northerly countries. These sightings were before the internet and before the telephone, so there was no copying going on.

That disparate people have a similar legend is not proof of the Yeti in itself, of course. It is progressively rarer to find undiscovered species that are larger than a spider, so the odds aren’t stacked in the Yeti’s favour. However, we can’t write this majestic pseudo-beast off just yet.

Recently, Legend Tracker, an adventure app developer, put out a request for footage of encounters with fabled creatures. Most of them were guff, as you would expect, but this film shot in Mission, British Columbia is one of the best. It could just be a bloke I suppose, but what’s he doing up there all on his own?

This next one is footage from a Chinese tourist group in the same place: Mission, British Columbia, this one is even less convincing, though. I reckon it’s a bored tour guide mucking with the tourists. Or, the Mission tourist board is trying to drum up a bit of free viral advertising.

It’s not impossible folks….
