South Korean Hotel That Looks Like A Cruise Ship On A Cliff
South Korea, in stark contrast to it’s northerly neighbour, is a thriving Asian economy. As such, there is a market for the luxurious and, because it’s in Asia, luxury often equates to weirdness.
The Sun Cruise Resort has all the charm and facilities of a cruise ship, the only difference is, it’s on top of a cliff. It seems pretty pointless, unless for some reason you absolutely love the interior of cruise ships, but suffer from sea sickness. In which case, you could probably just visit a normal hotel. It doesn’t matter either way though, because this thing does look pretty amazing.
It’s like a bad Photoshop job really. They even pipe in the sounds of waves to increase the illusion. It’s situated high above the shores of Jeongdongji where the South Korean tourist board says they have the best sun rises in the country.
Sun Cruise Resort opened in 2002 and rooms start at a very reasonable £45. And if you’re business orientated, like me, you can choose from any number of meeting rooms, then chill out in the rotating restaurant before finishing yourself off with some karaoke.
Mental isn’t it?
